Deepen your art practice through contact with the ancient wisdom of the equine
April 22-26
"Participating in this workshop was the best thing I did for my artistic practice this year. I believe its effectiveness lies in the fact that the lessons taken impact the artist on a deep level, beneath the technical level of one’s practice. It’s not as simple as finding the one to one comparison between each activity in horsemanship and one’s painting or drawing; rather one is encouraged to engage with the world differently in a venue of art completely unfamiliar to the everyday practice of painting or drawing. Working with these animals forces the artist to engage reality directly and most likely in an unfamiliar way. The effect is both humbling and empowering. In addition, I cannot say enough good things about the people behind this workshop. In order to get the most out of an experience like this, one needs to be able to give oneself over completely to the experience and trust that there will be growth and revelations on the other side and throughout. Maureen, Chase, and Hilary truly make that process possible for anyone through their kindness, honesty, and competence. "
